Denise and Lizzie met when they worked together at the Crowne Plaza in 1997.  In addition to becoming very good friends and with parallels in their working backgrounds they quickly realised that they both shared the same work ethics.  With this in mind, they formed Origin Events.

Their attention to detail, great customer service and additional unique selling points has quickly established their reputation as a key agent within the UK.  The combined knowledge, experience and personal commitment delivered to all their clients, has ensured that they have remained loyal and supportive since Origin Events was founded.

Denise Pinto began her profession as events co-ordinator at the 4 star resort hotel L’Horizon, part of Arcadian Hotels, in Jersey.  From there she continued her career with the chain but moved to Chester, working at the 4 star Mollington Banastre as Events Co-ordinator, running the busy department on her own.

A move to Edinburgh beckoned and Denise took on the position of Events Manager for the 4 star Scandic Crown hotel, now known today as the Radisson SAS.  She enjoyed seven years in this role managing a team of five ensuring standards were set and maintained to the highest level.  Her principle remit was to achieve targeted monthly budgets by ensuring the team converted all potential business and maximised revenue through yield and diary management.

A move to Apex hotels followed where Denise was employed as Events Manager for their three Edinburgh and one Dundee properties, managing a team of 9 staff.

In 2004, in conjunction with co-director, Lizzie Fisher, she set up Origin Events.

Lizzie

Lizzie started her career at the renowned 5-star Turnberry Hotel on the South West Coast of Scotland within Front Office. Lizzie was then very fortunate to be involved in the pre opening of the £23m refurbishment/opening of the Balmoral Hotel. Working in Reservations initially, she was promoted to Group Reservations and thereafter spent 2 years in the Sales Department responsible for the local corporate market.  

The lure of the Middle East proved inviting and Lizzie welcomed the opportunity to work for a short spell in the Jebel Ali resort, managing incentives. On returning to Edinburgh she worked in sales for a variety of hotel groups including Inter-Continental, Crowne Plaza and latterly with Apex, an independent group of hotels predominently responsible for the pre-opening of the new 4 star Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa, Dundee before starting Origin Events with Denise.
